ABOUT THE TEA M The Anduril Imaging team develops state-of-the-art imaging systems across both hardware and software, deployed to tackle the most significant security challenges of America and its allies. The team is heavily involved in utilizing computer vision, perception, electro-optical, infrared, and sensor data to give our war fighters and allies an advantage. ABOUT THE JOB We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team, focusing on the design and development of advanced complex opto -mechanical and structural and electronics packing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, development, analysis, and manufacturing tasks on complex mechanical hardware including precision space structures and mechanisms in a program team environment. WHAT YOU'LL DO Develop cutting-edge infrared sensors. Design high-precision and complex space opto-mechanical Develop and perform testing to show proof-of-design and/or qualification of new designs. Own hardware from concept generation to real-world use. Utilize first principles physics as a basis for all decisions. Responsible for establishing key performance error budgets Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production. Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers as needed. Define top-level system architecture trades to develop optimal system designs. Execute in-depth and rigorous opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical designs. Prepares reports, formal documentation and presentation materials summarizing analysis results and present results to both external and internal teams, including leadership and customers including Preliminary Design reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR) and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM) Mentoring junior engineers, leading small teams, and managing projects/budgets.
