As a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our Research and Development (R&D) team, you'll play a key role in developing life-changing devices that directly impact patient outcomes. You will need to live within commuting distance of our Portage, MI office. This is a hybrid role, with on-site work required on average 4 days a week.

  • Design, develop, and verify components and modules for medical devices under minimal supervision.
  • Translate design inputs into engineering specifications and subsystem-level designs.
  • Prototype and analyze design solutions to validate concepts and performance.
  • Identify and resolve complex technical challenges using data-driven analysis, resulting in improved processes and outcomes.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including Design History Files, in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Ensure alignment with quality management systems and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Marketing teams to ensure project success.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage workload independently to meet project milestones.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum two years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in creating engineering drawings and models using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (Creo Preferred).
  • Experience in the medical device industry or regulated environments.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with design controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
