About The Position

GFT is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support a variety of projects in the Mid-Atlantic Region. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Baltimore, MD office. Requirements

  • 15+ or more years of experience as a process equipment/mechanical/piping Designer.
  • Experience with MS Office, BlueBeam, Plant 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, or other similar 2-D/3-D pipe design software.
  • Familiar with interpreting pipe stress and flow modeling software and integrating information into the piping and equipment design.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

Responsibilities

  • Performing design/analysis including Plant Layout (industrial, chemical, or manufacturing), General equipment Arrangement Drawings, piping arrangement drawings, piping isometrics, detail drawings and other associated design drawings.
  • Developing 3-D models for projects and cutting relevant drawings for construction bidding and construction.
  • Developing process flow diagrams, piping, and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Processing piping, process equipment layout/design.
  • General knowledge of ISA standards.
  • Familiar with system walk downs, developing As-built drawings, working in Lidar Scans, performing field work during design, analysis, and construction phases.
  • Familiar with reviewing / verifying equipment fabrication drawings.
  • Preferred experience in 3-D model development for conceptual layout and client presentations.
  • Coordinating auxiliary design requirements with related disciplines.
  • Experience performing QA/QC checks on various projects.
