The company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join its dynamic startup, disrupting mobility and living spaces. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in developing and shipping products in the consumer or automotive industries, possessing a deep understanding of automotive design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. This individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and refine products that exceed customer expectations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 3-8+ years of experience.
Proven experience in mechanical design engineering, specifically in automotive exteriors.
Proficient in CAD software, such as CATIA V5/V6, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes used in vehicle exteriors.
Experience with FEA and other simulation tools for validating designs.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
A passion for innovation and sustainability in design.
Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations.
Proactiveness, logical thinking, team player.

Responsibilities

Develop innovative designs for vehicle exteriors, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and product managers to optimize design functionality and manufacturability.
Conduct simulations and testing to evaluate new designs and improve existing ones.
Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure the feasibility and quality of designs.
Document and present design proposals and technical reports to stakeholders.
Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in automotive exterior design.
Ensure designs are sustainable, cost-effective, and meet project budgets.
Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance in their professional development.
