As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for the creation and development of design solutions for special purpose high-speed automated life science assembly and packaging machinery projects. You will produce technical documentation for life science projects, including GAMP 5 design and validation documents, and provide the Application Engineering team with quotation support through drawings, concepts, and budgets. Effective communication with customers, suppliers, and team members is essential, as well as working closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure product performance, reliability, and cost expectations are met. You will perform engineering calculations to validate functionality, component sizing, speeds/rates, and failure modes to ensure the designed solution is feasible, robust, and reliable. Collaboration on design solutions with cross-functional teams, development of concepts and 3D designs, and ensuring compliance with required standards are key responsibilities. You will lead design reviews, collaborate with the Supply Chain group, produce necessary documentation, and assist in the development of other Mechanical Designers through coaching and mentorship. Additionally, you will interact with project leads and provide support during manufacturing and build stages, while fostering a workplace atmosphere aligned with Convergix values.
