About The Position
As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for the creation and development of design solutions for special purpose high-speed automated life science assembly and packaging machinery projects. You will produce technical documentation for life science projects, including GAMP 5 design and validation documents. The role involves providing the Application Engineering team with quotation support through drawings, concepts, and budgets, and communicating effectively with customers, suppliers, and team members. You will work closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure that product performance, reliability, and cost expectations are met. Additionally, you will perform engineering calculations to validate functionality, component sizing, speeds/rates, failure modes, etc., to ensure the designed solution is feasible, robust, and reliable. Collaboration on design solutions with cross-functional teams (Electrical Design, Controls, Assembly) is essential, as is developing concepts and 3D designs that align with the contractual scope and functional requirements. You will ensure solutions comply with required standards, lead design reviews, collaborate with the Supply Chain group, produce necessary documentation, and assist in the development of other Mechanical Designers through coaching and mentorship. The role may also involve driving project design direction and managing project budgets and schedules if selected as a Mechanical Project Lead.
