About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Commissioning Engineer with deep, hands-on experience commissioning LNG liquefaction trains, including rotating equipment packages centered on Baker Hughes Frame 7 gas turbines driving Mixed Refrigerant (MR) and Propane Refrigeration (PR) compression systems. This role will lead mechanical commissioning planning and execution from pre-commissioning through start-up and performance testing, ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable turnover to Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related engineering discipline).
  • Senior-level commissioning experience with demonstrated leadership in LNG liquefaction train mechanical commissioning.
  • Extensive experience with rotating equipment commissioning for Baker Hughes Frame 7 gas turbine-driven compression trains.
  • Strong familiarity with MR and PR compression equipment, auxiliaries, and associated balance-of-plant systems.
  • Proven ability to develop commissioning procedures and execute commissioning activities in high-hazard, operationally sensitive environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting capability across turbine/compressor train systems, lubricating oil systems, vibration behavior, and start-up constraints.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate across Construction, QA/QC, Operations, OEMs, and client stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience on large-scale LNG projects (EPC / owner / contractor environment).
  • Experience supporting performance testing, reliability run, and transition to operations.
  • Familiarity with commissioning systems/tools (turnover management, punch systems, completions databases).
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry codes/standards (e.g., API/ASME concepts relevant to rotating equipment and pressure systems).

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical commissioning execution for LNG liquefaction trains from system completion through start-up and stabilization.
  • Develop and execute commissioning deliverables: commissioning procedures, check sheets, readiness plans, punch management, turnover dossiers, and system handover packages.
  • Provide technical leadership for rotating equipment commissioning, including: Frame 7 turbine-driven compression trains MR and PR compressor packages Auxiliaries (seal systems, lube oil systems, cooling systems, fuel gas, purge/vent systems, instrument air, etc.)
  • Plan and supervise mechanical pre-commissioning activities: flushing/cleaning, leak testing, alignment verification, preservation removal, reinstatement, and mechanical run readiness.
  • Interface with OEM/vendor reps and EPC/construction teams to coordinate installation verification, SAT support, and readiness for energization/start.
  • Lead equipment inspections and validation of key rotating equipment prerequisites: Lube oil cleanliness verification, system flushing acceptance Coupling alignment / soft foot checks Barring gear operation and verification Seal gas and dry gas seal system readiness (as applicable) Vibration/condition monitoring readiness and baseline data capture
