The Senior Material planner is responsible for the procurement, pull, flow, expediting of material and identification and resolution of materials issues and shortages within the PFC ledger consistent with operating objectives. Gather and present data to upper management to aid in production scheduling. Works with Buyers, Assembly Technicians, production supervisors, and suppliers to ensure effective Plant operation. Assist in implementing ELS (Lean Manufacturing) techniques throughout the plant and division as required. In this function you will: Maintain a high level of responsiveness to our internal and external customers. Purchase material via MRP through MAPICS and AS400, including material purchases for the CMSC's. Perform presentations during Plant Production Meetings and at other times as required. Promote good working relationships with internal suppliers and within the plant between the Materials Organization (which includes storeroom), Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Engineering Provide updates in PFC Tier 1 & SCM Tier F Maintain priority list updated for the internal supplier's meetings. Interpret data to make the right purchasing or planning decisions. Responsible for performing specialized tasks within the supply chain. Interpret and execute the MRP supply recommendations for raw materials and components used. Collaborate with procurement team to ensure timely delivery of specialty items (OBD - New parts) and supplies. Participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in supply chain processes. Expedite materials with suppliers to improve dates to meet customer needs, via email, Vista, and phone. Submit and Resolve Change Management Workflows Submit FIT continuous Improvement ideas within Supply chain. Review PFC schedule and provide updates in production meetings. Maintain supplier promise dates in different databases for every purchase order. Proactively manage potential material shortages (PO past dues, PO critical overdue, PO no promise dates, PO review) Serve as backup for other planners. Responsible for PFC Kanban planning, orders, database and any and all changes. Help to identify and disposition of excess or obsolete inventory while minimizing cost.
