About The Position

Senior Materials Management & Transportation Manager Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is looking for a Senior Materials Management & Transportation Manager (Level M) to lead the BDS Materials Management team in Huntsville, AL. The manager in this role will develop cross-functional partnerships to achieve team and program goals while developing and implementing a Production Control environment that promotes accountability, trust, teamwork, quality and safety. The position requires someone who can coordinate and gain consensus across the organization horizontally and vertically Manage the total product flow from supplier to completion, identifying issues and future challenges based on trends. Effectively problem solve to address production challenges and improve processes

Requirements

  • 5+ years work experience in Production Control, Materials Management, Supply Chain, or Logistics
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role leading diverse teams, initiatives, or projects to meet business objectives and influence change
  • 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams
  • 5+ years of experience with continuous process improvement initiatives
  • 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing, assembly and/or aerospace environment
  • Ability to work any shift based on the needs of the operation
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to Obtain U.S. Top Secret – Interim Pre-Start & Final Post Start
  • Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in using Lean principles
  • 3+ years of experience with Production Planning and/or One Boeing Production System (One BPS).
  • 3+ years advising and influencing managers or non-managers to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational problems
  • Prior experience with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR) on Material Management and Accounting System requirements, with general CAS and FAR regulations
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

Responsibilities

  • Lead the establishment and operational launch of a new Production Control organization, defining structure, processes, and KPIs to ensure efficient production planning and execution
  • Train Mfg. Leaders and ICs in fundamental elements of PC
  • Develops and executes integrated organizational strategies, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
  • Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical and operational management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports through Seek, Speak, and Listen
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes to drive First Pass Quality
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers for individual and team development
  • Assists with driving Boeing's Production System (BPS) transformation (OneBPS)
