About The Position

The Senior Material Planner is responsible for reviewing new customer orders, production planning daily, and prioritizing material requirements to meet these demands. This role involves analyzing demand to run material planning reports and driving purchasing activities and internal material qualifications. The planner will work closely with purchasing to schedule, expedite, push out, or cancel orders based on material planning. Daily tracking of material shortages for each project is essential, coordinating with buyers, engineers, and manufacturing to resolve issues and escalate urgent matters. The position also requires releasing regular forecasts for suppliers based on parts inventory and demand, analyzing excess and obsolete inventory, and optimizing inventory performance in collaboration with sales, PLM, manufacturing, and procurement. Continuous improvement of internal material planning processes and methodologies is a key responsibility, along with managing and cycle counting inventory of raw materials, work in process, and finished goods. Conducting financial risk assessments related to inventory and maintaining safety and good housekeeping principles are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of material planning and supply chain experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication skills and teamwork mindset.
  • Logical thinking and result-driven.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in a manufacturing planning capacity with knowledge of Oracle systems, BOM, and Process and Routings.
