About The Position

This position is responsible for developing, maintaining and optimizing the master production schedule (MPS) to balance customer demand, capacity, inventory targets, and business objectives. This role serves as a key link between sales, operations, purchasing and manufacturing, ensuring executable plans that support on-time delivery, cost control, and service-level performance. The Senior Scheduler provides leadership, advance analysis, and continuous improvement to planning process. This position will be onsite in San Diego, CA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in production planning or master scheduling in a manufacturing environment
  • Advance knowledge of MRP, MPS and capacity planning concepts
  • Strong experience with ERP systems (SAP) and advance planning tools
  • Proven ability to manage complex schedules and competing priorities
  • This position is not currently eligible for visa sponsorship.

  • APICs/ASCM Certification
  • Experience with S&OP processes
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
  • Multi-site or global supply chain experience

Responsibilities

  • Develops manage and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) across multiple products, lines and/or facilities
  • Translate demand forecast, customer order and sales plans into feasible production schedules
  • Ensure alignment between the MPS, capacity plans, material availability, and labor constraints
  • Evaluate and resolve demand-supply imbalances using scenario analysis and trade-off recommendations
  • Monitor schedule adherence, on-time delivery, inventory levels and capacity utilization
  • Identify risk to execution and proactively implement mitigation plan
  • Support resolution of production issues, shortages, and schedule conflicts
  • Maintain accurate planning parameters in ERP/MRP systems
  • Leverage advanced planning tools and analytics to optimize schedules
  • Ensure data integrity related to lead times and capacities
  • Prepare the supply and capacity analysis for the S&OP meetings, providing schedule feasibility and risk assessments
  • Communicate schedule changes, constraints, and priorities to stakeholders
  • Anticipates potential expiration scrap and collaborates with commercial team to find a suitable use.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy and responsiveness
  • Develop and document standard work, planning policies, and best practices
  • Mentor and guide junior schedulers or planners
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) and lifecycle changes
  • Performs other duties and projects assigned
