About The Position

About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Market Risk Specialist to support the Enterprise Counterparty Risk Management (ECRM) Governance team within Market and Counterparty Risk Management (MCRM). ECRM provides governance, oversight, monitoring, and reporting of counterparty credit risk generated by the firm’s trading and sales businesses. This role will support senior team members in the development, coordination, and maintenance of counterparty credit-related governance routines, including controls, governance forums, and support for enterprise programs. In this role, you will: Execute a range of ECRM Governance-related controls, ensuring compliance with written procedures and maintenance of clear documentation evidencing control execution. Critically review the control inventory and recommend updates and changes as necessary, working closely with team members and control partners as appropriate. Provide support for counterparty governance routines, such as ECRM’s committee, council, and working group process, including support for agenda development/management and minute taking. Assist in updating and maintaining counterparty credit policies and related documents, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal standards. Support the development and execution of monitoring routines to help track compliance with policy requirements. Help maintain the inventory of counterparty business policies and procedures, coordinating with subject matter experts and line‑of‑business partners. Support the ECRM Governance team with tracking and monitoring the inventory of new business initiatives to ensure the provision of timely and complete responses. Support the completion of required tasks within the Policy Governance Platform and help maintain documentation in accordance with enterprise policy‑management requirements. Assist in the administration, monitoring, reporting, and development of counterparty‑related key risk indicators and risk appetite metrics, including analyzing trends, identifying trigger drivers, and assessing recalibration needs Assist in the execution of the Major Counterparty Crisis (MCC) process, including the annual MCC test, the process for ad hoc events, and maintenance and enhancement of the MCC infrastructure. Coordinate ECRM Governance record retention and contribute to the development and enhancement of ECRM’s record-retention framework. Support the ECRM Governance team in responding to internal audit and regulatory inquiries and exams.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: trading, desk analyst, Capital Markets, market risk, interest rate risk or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the management and execution of controls, including procedure maintenance and experience with the RCSA framework.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, and strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to develop clear, concise, and visually compelling materials for senior management and executive-level councils and committees.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret risk metrics, identify trends, and synthesize insights.
  • Experience supporting the development or maintenance of risk policies or procedures.
  • Familiarity with credit risk or counterparty credit risk concepts, frameworks, and tools.
  • Basic understanding of products such as derivatives, foreign exchange, or securities financing.
  • Effective organizational and process‑management skills, with the ability to coordinate recurring risk routines and deliverables.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working with a variety of stakeholders across risk and front‑office teams.
  • Experience supporting audit, compliance, or regulatory processes is a plus.
