About The Position

RiskSpan is a leading source of analytics, modeling, data, and risk management solutions for the Consumer and Institutional Finance industries. We solve complex business challenges for clients such as banks, MBS/ABS issuers, asset managers, servicers, and regulators, with deep expertise across market risk, credit risk, operational risk, and IT. We are seeking a Senior Market Risk Application Developer to join our RiskSpan Consulting Advisory team. This individual will serve as a technical and functional subject matter expert in market risk application development. The role involves designing and developing complex software components and integrating vendor platforms into proprietary systems to support fixed income and securitized product workflows.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in software development within capital markets or risk technology environments.
Deep understanding of fixed income products, trade flows, and risk systems.
Expertise in: o Programming Languages: Java, Groovy, Python o Frameworks & Tools: Spring, Camel, Gradle, Kafka, Git o Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS (EC2, S3), Linux environments o Databases: Strong SQL proficiency
Familiarity with vendor integration for securitized products and financial analytics platforms.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Murex, Polypaths, or similar risk systems is highly desirable.
Ability to manage and deliver on multiple concurrent priorities.
Strong communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated understanding of CS fundamentals, including web development, SOA, cloud computing, and domain-driven design.
Proactive, analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
Experience with distributed, multi-tier application development and system integration.

Responsibilities

Analyze, design, develop, and maintain software applications that support Market and Credit Risk functions.
Lead development and integration efforts involving in-house components and third-party tools such as ION, Bloomberg, Murex, and Polypaths.
Interpret and implement technical requirements with minimal guidance, working closely with stakeholders to capture business needs.
Write, test, deploy, and maintain production-grade code and accompanying system documentation.
Execute system analysis, develop detailed design specifications, and conduct unit/component/integration testing.
Ensure software meets business objectives, regulatory compliance, and security standards.
Promote best practices across the development lifecycle and participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
Contribute to Agile and Waterfall project deliveries.
