About the position

Fitch Ratings is currently seeking a Senior Market Research Associate based out of our New York office. The candidate will be a key member of the team. This role will suit someone who is seeking to develop a career in a front-line relationship management/marketing role. The candidate will support the senior members of the US Corporate Finance BRM Team in managing and developing Fitch's relationships both internally and externally. The role requires a basic understanding of the debt capital markets and ratings business. Some exposure to corporate credit analysis is helpful. The candidate will be responsible for research, development, and preparation of marketing materials under guidance from senior members of the team. Individual must be self-sufficient and adept at putting together PowerPoint presentations and working with Excel spreadsheets. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing quantitative models and databases. The candidate will need to monitor fixed income market news, debt issuances, corporate refinancings, LBOs, and M&A activities, and to look out for Fitch rating opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior members of the US Corporate Finance BRM Team in managing and developing relationships.
  • Conduct research and prepare marketing materials under guidance.
  • Maintain and enhance quantitative models and databases.
  • Monitor fixed income market news, debt issuances, corporate refinancings, LBOs, and M&A activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, finance, or economics.
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate data.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to build effective relationships.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of CLOs or Structured Finance.
  • Resourceful and organized.
  • Positive attitude.
