About The Position

The Senior Market Development Manager - On Premise at E. & J. Gallo is responsible for maximizing the sale and distribution of Gallo brands within On-Premise accounts. This role involves executing strategic sales and marketing plans, maintaining and expanding relationships with key accounts, and leveraging insights to drive business performance. The manager will work closely with distributor personnel, monitor performance goals, and engage in innovative marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility and sales.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience; OR Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of CPG sales experience; OR High School diploma plus 7 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Ability to obtain liquor license as required by state/locality.
  • Experience demonstrating strong leadership, selling, time management, and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to see, taste, and smell wine and perform wine tastings.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience including prior roles such as Spirits Development Specialist or Account Manager; OR Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of external alcohol sales experience.
  • Experience selling or marketing Gallo brands.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize the sale and distribution of Gallo brands within On-Premise accounts.
  • Execute strategic sales and marketing plans to achieve sales goals.
  • Maintain and expand relationships with key strategic and emerging accounts.
  • Work closely with distributor personnel to execute monthly programs and close sales gaps.
  • Train and coach distributor sales representatives to enhance performance.
  • Monitor market and sales data to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Assist in recruiting efforts and motivate distributor management and sales teams.
  • Coordinate with the local Shopper Marketing team for market activation.
  • Engage accounts and distributor personnel to maximize e-Retail opportunities.
  • Host events and promote Gallo sales within the community.
