As the Senior Marine Welder, you will be part of a dynamic team supporting our US. Navy Ships with equipment, and C5ISR system installations located in the beautiful surroundings in Chesapeake , Virginia and work closely with the customer and other Serco team members to deliver high technology performed on-board U.S. Naval Ships and military installations. Serco supports our US Naval Ships with successful and safe work by providing cabling, equipment, and C5ISR system installations for our Military. You will join an amazing team to fabricate, and assemble various electromechanical and electronic assemblies by applying appropriate safety techniques. In this role, you will: Interpret specifications, drawings, blueprints, shop job orders and, process sheets. Use a variety of ARC and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as foundations, cable collars, cable/pipe/vent hangers, cable tubes penetrations, studs, etc. Perform related task such as thermal cutting (PLASMA or TORCH) and grinding. Have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Assign work to qualified personnel. Train new shop personnel on machinery, tools and test equipment required for quality construction of products. Work onboard U.S. Naval Ships and military installations in an area that is somewhat uncomfortable due to drafts, noise, temperature variation and the like and with equipment where carelessness would probably result in minor cuts, bruises, muscle strains, serious injury, or death.
