About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Technician with exceptional fine-motor skills, strong process discipline, and the ability to quickly learn complex micro assembly equipment. This role involves both manual and automated precision assembly of high-value microelectronics and optical components. This position is ideal for someone experienced in handling delicate microelectronics or optics, working in cleanroom environments, and that is a quick learner.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and operate complex machinery or automated assembly systems
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and comfort working with fragile, miniature components
  • Experience working in cleanroom, optics, biomedical, aerospace, or similar environments
  • Familiarity with clean handling practices, including ESD protocols
  • Basic computer proficiency: experience with MRP systems or Excel is a plus
  • Must be comfortable following detailed work instructions and documenting work accurately
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to fine detail
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and become proficient in the use of: Pick and Place Precision Assembly machines
  • Manual and Automated wire bonding machines
  • Custom mounting and bonding systems for infrared and optical components
  • Handle, clean, align, package and assemble microelectronics such as: Semiconductor wafers and detector die
  • Optical lenses
  • PCB boards and fine-pitch devices
  • Apply space-grade adhesives for temporary and permanent bonding of components
  • Work under microscopes and follow detailed procedures in cleanroom or controlled environments
  • Assist engineers and scientists in developing or refining manufacturing processes
  • Support the creation and maintenance of process documentation
  • Train and mentor less experienced team members
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure material and information flow
  • Maintain a strong commitment to quality, safety, and compliance
