About The Position

Eaton’s Electrical Sector Americas – Assemblies and Residential Solutions (ARS) division is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer This position will be based at our facility in Smyrna, GA satellite office outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Reporting to the Regional OPEX Manager, this role is responsible for manufacturing engineering activities for all product lines in the ARS CPA Satellites Organization. This is a key position for the Satellites that interfaces with the Business Operations Manager, Production Manager, Product Engineers, and Production Teams. Leads the evaluation of current and future state manufacturing processes and ensures that sound engineering and manufacturing principles are being followed. You will recommend changes to existing manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years’ experience in electrical manufacturing roles. Years of experience may include Internship and/or Co-Op participation in a manufacturing setting
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement and LEAN Six Sigma efforts; for example, prior participation RIE, Process Maps, Value Stream Maps, Standard Work, and 5S
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Smyrna, GA will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

  • Excellent computer skills, including AutoCAD, bid manger, AS400, Vista etc.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand product assembly drawings
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time with little direction
  • Knowledge and application of engineering and design principles

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of Lean, Six Sigma, and MESH by participating in events, through the use of Process Maps, Value Stream Maps, Standard Work, 5S, Potential Failure Modes and Effects Analyses, Control Plans, and Job Safety Analyses for production lines.
  • Collect and analyze data on standard manufacturing time, assembly cycle time and TAKT Times for different product lines to make recommendations and execute projects to improve and/or reduce variation on the specific Operation Metrics
  • Work with Engineering to implement processes to establish and meet product design objectives
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and implement solutions to problems affecting manufacturing processes, the quality of our products, and the safety of the employees.
  • Evaluate, specify, and implement the operation of new and existing machinery and tools and initiate orders for new machinery and equipment as required for upkeep and/or improvement of production processes.
  • Design, source, test and hand-off tooling such as jigs, fixtures, special tools, torque tools, handling devices, and similar items as required to support assembly process.
  • Work on complex projects in the development of methods and processes to enhance or improve production and reduce costs by investigating, establishing and implementing requirements for equipment, tooling, materials, and methods of production. Investigate and troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Support implementation of 5S Standardization across the Satellites.
  • Review, process, and communicate Quality Alerts, General Directives, DMRs, and EPM metric management for the Satellites
  • Support Site relocation, expansions, layout improvements, and Tenant Improvement implementation (as necessary).
  • Support all areas of OPEX – EHS/MESH and Supply Chain for example
