About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to oversee and manage a critical area of Melbourne production. This role is critical to ensuring seamless operations daily, maintaining productivity, quality standards, and achieving business objectives. This Operations Manager will lead a team of operations supervisors, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to safety, compliance, driving throughput and operational excellence initiatives.

Requirements

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
5+ years of experience in operations management or a similar role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ERP systems or production management tools.

Responsibilities

Manage and supervise all operational activities during the week, ensuring all shifts meet production and efficiency targets.
Provide direction, guidance, and support to the team to ensure smooth execution of tasks.
Lead, motivate, and develop a team of employees, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Conduct shift meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and any updates.
Address and resolve employee concerns or challenges promptly and effectively.
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and waste reduction.
Responsible for Area output ensuring we meet all goals monthly
Collaborate with other managers to ensure continuity between all shifts
Enforce safety protocols and ensure the team adheres to all company policies and regulatory requirements.
Promote a culture of safety awareness among team members.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular updates to senior management.
Identify and address any operational challenges to meet production goals.
Implement lean principles to ensure everyone knows if we are winning or losing
Coordinate staffing levels to align with workload demands.
