About The Position

Unison is the leading provider of differentiated engine controls, accessories, and performance monitoring solutions in the Aerospace, Defense & Space segments. Serving both original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket customers, Unison designs, manufactures and supplies the most advanced components and systems in the world. The Sr Manufacturing Engineering Leader is responsible for overseeing and optimizing manufacturing operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality products on time and within budget. This role involves strategic planning, process improvement, team leadership, and collaboration across departments to achieve operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing operations, Lean (FLIGHT DECK) methodologies, and leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 9 years of experience in Manufacturing Leadership, Engineering and/or Supply Chain Management)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Leadership, Engineering and/or Supply Chain Management.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Aerospace manufacturing or other highly regulated industries.
• Strong experience leading and coaching technical teams.
• Proven ability to drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery and cost (SQDC).
• Proficiency in structured problem-solving methods, such as the 4-step Problem Solving Framework (Define, Analyze, Countermeasure, Sustain), APPS (At Point Problem Solving).
• Experience in managing complex projects, ensuring timely delivery, and adapting to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Define and control production process including tooling and equipment.
• Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
• Lead and manage day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet production schedules, quality standards, and cost targets.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
• Implement Lean (FLIGHT DECK) principles, including Kaizen, Standard Work, and Hoshin Kanri, to drive process improvements and eliminate waste.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Manage and develop a team of manufacturing professionals, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback.
• Promote a safe and inclusive work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align manufacturing strategies with business objectives.
• Develop and execute plans to optimize capacity, efficiency, and resource utilization.
• Analyze operational challenges and implement effective solutions to improve productivity and reduce downtime.
• Utilize data-driven decision-making to address issues and drive results.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Partner with Quality teams to maintain high product standards and resolve quality issues.
