About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead sustaining and continuous improvement initiatives in our robotics manufacturing facility. In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally to optimize production processes, troubleshoot assembly and design issues, implement lean manufacturing strategies, and drive innovation in robotic assembly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in a commercial, product-driven manufacturing environment supporting a production line (robotics, automotive, aerospace, medical, or similar preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems, mechanisms, actuators, PCBAs, and sensors.
  • Engineering Change Order (ECO) experience within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, Windchill experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in Python and Linux, and/or C languages.
  • Experience with ERP and MES software to manage inventory and production processes.
  • Proven ability to mentor and lead engineers and technicians effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to drive initiatives independently and within teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Altium and/or Creo is a significant plus.
  • Experience developing and implementing manufacturing equipment in production environments (DQ/IQ/OQ/PQ) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve (debug) manufacturing, field, and design issues with focus on electronic assemblies and components, supporting root cause analysis (RCA) and lead corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for nonconformances.
  • Lead sustaining engineering efforts by owning the implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECRs & ECOs) affecting product design, BOMs, and drawings across active product lines.
  • Author and maintain up-to-date technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, BOMs, work instructions, process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, control plans, and tool/fixture/equipment specifications to support production and service operations.
  • Develop and execute design updates to improve manufacturability, resolve production and design issues, working cross-functionally with design, test, quality, and supply chain teams.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to validate design changes, material substitutions, and implement supplier testing.
  • Collaborate with design and test teams to debug functional test fixtures for PCBAs, incorporating necessary stimulus, test circuitry, and test firmware/software.
  • Apply statistical process control methodologies for overall quality control of PCBAs and systems.
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, drive improvements in capacity, quality, cost, and safety, and implement lean manufacturing solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
