About The Position

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad site objectives with strong understanding of engineering processes related to manufacturing. In this role you will integrate and develop processes and products that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, develop early career manufacturing engineers and contribute to the overall business strategy. This role emphasizes driving operational performance improvements with a proactive approach to prevent surprises and ensure delivery continuity in a team environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years Aerospace experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years Manufacturing Engineering experience

Nice To Haves

  • Significant aerospace manufacturing experience in non-conventional & conventional machining, fabrication, joining, inspection, tooling, fixturing, NC programming and assembly.
  • Experience with exotic alloys
  • Ability to read and interpret part drawings using GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
  • Familiarity with Aerospace Quality standards, Special Process Certifying Agent and/or Nadcap experience
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills in dynamic situations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven experience in managing quality processes such as Product and/or Process Substantiation (SPS), ECAV, FAI, MRB, CID, and related methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead creative solutions for complex manufacturing processes involving technical variety and interdependent production cycles.
  • Utilize advanced operational, product management, and engineering techniques to resolve issues.
  • Identify and analyze improvement opportunities, implement Lean principles, and optimize manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and operations teams to align efforts with business objectives.
  • Define and oversee production processes, including tooling and equipment validation, ensuring alignment with design specifications and shop floor applications.
  • Lead functional teams or projects, present solutions to leadership, and influence internal and external stakeholders to drive action and adopt new perspectives.
  • Analyze and estimating the cost of manufacturing processes to ensure cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
  • Train and develop manufacturing engineers and work autonomously.
  • Uphold safety and quality, fostering a lean culture adopting FLIGHT DECK.
