This individual plays a key role in solving complex technical challenges, leading initiatives and collaborating cross-functionally to support both current production and next-generation product development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in engineering, manufacturing or a related discipline
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering principles, manufacturing processes and problem-solving methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and implement innovative solutions
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in medical device or regulated manufacturing environment
  • Experience leading projects or mentoring engineers
  • Experience supporting new product introduction and process scale-up
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the manufacturing organization to facilitate efficient operations, optimize existing processes and ensure production goals are met.
  • Monitor performance of equipment, machines and tools, and correct equipment issues or process parameters that result in nonconforming products, low yields or quality concerns.
  • Interface with Quality and Research and Development teams to integrate new products or processes into the manufacturing environment.
  • Initiate and lead technical activities resulting in new or improved products and processes aligned with strategic business objectives. Prepare reports, publish findings and deliver presentations.
  • Analyze and solve a broad range of complex engineering problems, applying advanced principles and developing innovative solutions, including breakthrough approaches when needed.
  • Apply deep knowledge of engineering theories, concepts and practices to become a subject matter expert in a specialized area and contribute in leadership capacities.
  • Incorporate business policies and procedures into work execution, demonstrating strong understanding of customer needs, business strategy and emerging technology trends.
  • Build and leverage internal and external networks to achieve objectives. Support onboarding and development of new engineers and may lead project teams, including setting direction and mentoring team members.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and serve as a consultant on complex engineering or scientific matters. Act as a spokesperson to internal and external stakeholders on business unit capabilities and future direction.
  • Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy and all documented quality processes and procedures.
  • Support a work environment that promotes adherence to the Boston Scientific Quality Policy and Quality System requirements, when applicable.
