This senior manufacturing engineer provides end-to-end engineering ownership for two distinct product manufacturing lines at the Arden Hills site — one manual, low-volume line and one highly automated, high-volume line. The role is critical to sustaining safe, compliant and efficient operations while driving process capability, capacity expansion and continuous improvement for high-reliability medical device components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, industrial or related field)
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in manufacturing engineering in a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience supporting equipment-intensive manufacturing operations, including hands-on process troubleshooting
  • Experience applying root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies to resolve production issues
  • Working knowledge of quality systems, validation and change management processes
  • Ability to work on-site in a manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in medical device manufacturing, particularly electronics, test or component-level operations
  • Demonstrated experience transferring manufacturing lines, both internally and to external sites or partners
  • Experience duplicating or replicating production lines to increase manufacturing capacity or support demand growth
  • Familiarity with process capability (Cpk), SPC and high-volume manufacturing performance metrics
  • Experience supporting both manual and highly automated manufacturing processes

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the sole manufacturing engineering owner for two separate product lines, ensuring alignment to safety, quality, service and cost objectives
  • Support and optimize a manual, low-volume manufacturing line, focusing on process stability, workmanship controls and yield improvement
  • Lead engineering support for a highly automated, high-volume manufacturing line, including equipment performance, automation reliability and throughput optimization
  • Analyze manufacturing and equipment performance to identify and resolve issues related to nonconformance, yield loss and product quality
  • Lead and execute process improvements, equipment upgrades and line-sustaining engineering activities across both product lines
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, quality, R&D, facilities and supply chain to integrate new products, processes and technology changes
  • Support validation, change control and quality system requirements in compliance with Boston Scientific policies and procedures
  • Prepare and present technical documentation, data analyses and recommendations to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor; may lead small projects or defined project workstreams
