About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement fabrication and assembly processes to transition new products from R&D to production. This position is primarily geared towards products in low-rate production that consist of high-precision components and/or complex system architectures. This position will also assist in setup and process implementation for transitioning of higher-rate items to the full-scale production team and well as assist with current commercial and military product manufacturing. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in some or all of the following areas: Setting up new product assembly lines Design of production tooling/fixtures for quality and assembly consistency Developing assembly work instructions Use of production travelers for process tracking and traceability General knowledge of various fabrication/manufacturing processes such as: CNC machining, sheet metal cutting/forming, injection molding, rotational molding, tube assembly fabrication DFM GD&T

Requirements

  • BS in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering with GPA not less than 3.3
  • Minimum 5 years' experience
  • US Citizenship required due to strict ITAR regulations

Responsibilities

  • Guide junior manufacturing, industrial, and process engineers
  • Plan, design and implement manufacturing and assembly processes for new product development
  • Work with design engineers to determine critical-to-function features and determine best methods to ensure quality and reliability while maintaining ease of manufacturing/assembly
  • Review detailed fabrication and assembly drawings for accuracy and tolerances
  • Determine parts, equipment, and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications
  • Design tooling and fixturing for production and quality control
  • Develop and optimize process flow and work instructions
  • Support low volume production to verify achievement of process plans and targets for quality, safety, efficiency, and cost
  • Maximize production efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization
  • Identify equipment/resource constraints and opportunities
