The Senior Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical, hands-on role in developing, optimizing, and sustaining production processes for flight-critical aerospace components. You will be highly engaged on the production floor, partnering closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production to troubleshoot complex issues, improve manufacturability, refine workflows, develop robust work instructions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or a related Engineering discipline
  • 7+ years of progressive Manufacturing Engineering experience in a production manufacturing environment, with demonstrated ownership of manufacturing processes
  • Proven hands-on experience developing, deploying, and sustaining manufacturing processes, work instructions, tooling, and production documentation
  • Strong background supporting production floor activities, including root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and continuous process improvement
  • Working knowledge of multiple manufacturing methods such as machining, composites, forming, joining, or complex assembly operations
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze production data, identify trends and root causes, and implement effective, sustainable solutions
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment
  • English fluency (written and verbal

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading or facilitating FMEA, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated, high-reliability manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • The design, development, and continuous improvement of manufacturing process flows and work instructions, including accurate process lead times, capacity analysis, and optimization of labor and equipment utilization.
  • Drive the development, validation, and implementation of advanced production processes, tooling strategies, and manufacturing methodologies to support both legacy and new programs.
  • Plan and execute complex engineering evaluations and trials for new materials, processes, equipment, and process improvements; analyze results and recommend scalable solutions.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve high-impact manufacturing and process issues affecting safety, quality, cost, delivery, or schedule.
  • Review, analyze, and coordinate the implementation of methods, procedures, and controls to stabilize and improve manufacturing processes; actively support and deploy Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain Process FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) for DG core manufacturing processes, ensuring risk mitigation strategies are effective and aligned with production realities.
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve DG manufacturing best practices, workmanship standards, and process documentation.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with company policies, safety requirements, and quality standards, and provide technical guidance to production teams as needed.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production leadership to support production readiness, problem resolution, and long-term process stability.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management in support of manufacturing and operational objectives.
  • Adhere to all DG safety procedures and policies as directed by company leadership and the Facility Engineer/Safety Director.
