The Opportunity Our location in Minnetonka, MN, currently has an opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer II. This position will support and improve existing manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to meet daily production schedules while enhancing productivity and product quality. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

Requirements

  • Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Biomedical or related Engineering area
  • Minimum 5 years Manufacturing engineering experience required.
  • 3+ years' experience with value stream mapping, 5S
  • 3+ years experience with DMAIC and other process improvement tools

Nice To Haves

  • Previous regulated manufacturing environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support and continuously improve manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to meet daily production schedules while enhancing productivity and product quality., supporting our manufacturing and operations team with a 10am - 6pm schedule, Monday - Friday
  • Production support and process validation.
  • Support Supply Chain Resilience efforts to implement supply chains as necessary
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing process and equipment.
  • Utilize tools like DMAIC, Gage R&R, Cp, Cpk, and SPC to improve processes.
  • Understand manufacturing concepts like Value Stream mapping, 5S and Visual Workplace to improve quality, labor efficiency, and throughput.
  • Lead project efforts within Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost priorities (example: CAPA ownership)
  • Generate and modify manufacturing process documentation.
  • Work with cross functional and dual site manufacturing teams
  • Develop and implement process improvements.
