Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our Production Support Engineering Team in King of Prussia, PA ! The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of the following: manufacturing practices and methods for mechanical assembly and integration, electronics assembly, and/or cable/harness assembly; reading and interpreting drawings, schematics, and specifications; knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques; the ability to read, interpret, and apply basic GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles. Summary of Key Duties for this position: You will design manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for mechanical assemblies and electromechanical assemblies. You will provide producibility inputs and feedback to design engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements. You will write production plans, inspect and assess defective hardware, and optimize production flows to meet program deliverables. You will communicate with shop floor personnel to implement process improvements and gain efficiencies. You will support Production Control in prioritizing work in process to meet program delivery schedules. You will analyze shop performance, and support Quality Assurance in root cause analysis and corrective actions for process-related defects. You will support development and production of weapon systems. Travel may be required. Weekend or off-hour support may be required to support production schedules.

Requirements

Mechanical assembly, vehicle assembly, and/or electro-mechanical assembly experience.
Experience writing manufacturing work instructions.
Experience reading engineering drawings and/or analyzing design documentation.
Manufacturing and/or Production Operations experience.
This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to able obtain a Secret security clearance and be a US Citizen.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating in an aerospace or defense production environment.
Experience with high-mix production operations.
Experience developing rework instructions, repair directions, or flow alteration records.
Demonstrated understanding of lean manufacturing techniques and principles as well as work measurements and labor standards.
Experience with reentry vehicle or missile assembly processes, methodologies, and equipment.
Experience in SAP is a plus.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office.
Active security clearance at the Secret level, or higher, is desired.
