Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline; or equivalent experience.
  • Five (5) to Eight (8) years relevant and progressive manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience using office software products and CAD software.
  • Demonstrated ability to think deeply and critically about processes.
  • Demonstrated Six Sigma problem solving project work.
  • Demonstrated understanding and implementation of Lean fundamentals.
  • Demonstrated Capital or large equipment implementation project work.
  • Advanced experience with new product development workflow and stage gates.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient use of office software products used in spreadsheets, documents, and presentations.
  • Intermediate skills in AutoCad or other CAD software.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in group problem solving situations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the research, evaluation, and implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies to improve production efficiency, quality, and flexibility.
  • Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and systems for new product development.
  • Drive turn-key handoff of new production process to serial production, including product qualification and verification.
  • Plan and execute large, complex multi-step capital equipment purchases.
  • Conduct plant layout optimization to improve material flow, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that manufacturing processes are aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Develop documentation related to new manufacturing processes, including work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers on new processes and systems.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement complex process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for manufacturing process improvements.
  • Optimize existing manufacturing processes and systems to increase safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Drive implementation of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Manage large-scale capital projects, including budgeting and procurement.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors.
  • Champion safety initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
