Our Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our Prismatic (Complex Milling) Manufacturing Group in East Aurora, NY. This is your opportunity to take on a high-impact role where innovation meets precision, and your expertise drives the development of cutting-edge aerospace components. As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of both new product development and continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes. You’ll work hands-on with complex milled parts, applying advanced CNC programming and machining knowledge to solve challenges and optimize performance.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 5+ years of relevant professional experience, or an Associate degree with 8+ years of relevant professional experience or a High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years of proven professional experience
  • Strong knowledge and experience in 5-Axis CNC Milling programming using CAD/CAM (NX experience preferred, but not required)
  • Proven experience in end-to-end process engineering—from raw material to finished product
  • Hands-on machining experience, including setup and operation
  • Expertise in machining a variety of materials (aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of cutting tools, workholding, and fixture design
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Project management experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of manufacturing processes for new aerospace components.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives across engineering teams.
  • Create and prove out N/C programs, operation sequences, workholding design concepts, tooling/gauge lists, and detailed work instructions.
  • Support and improve existing production processes through hands-on shop floor engagement.
  • Estimate time standards, labor ratios, and economic run quantities for complex parts.
  • Generate detailed cost estimates for new business and process improvements.
  • Evaluate and implement new capital equipment and manufacturing technologies.
  • Collaborate daily with engineers, technicians, operations staff, quality teams, and suppliers to resolve process issues and mentor peers.
  • Lead projects and potentially own the engineering portion of a dedicated manufacturing cell.
  • Support automated manufacturing cells to reduce labor and variability.
