About The Position

The Executive Account Leader will be responsible for leading the strategy and growth opportunities for a large Investor Services account that spans multiple regions. As a senior relationship manager for our client, this individual will provide oversight and support to the account team to ensure robust account planning and collaboration across all services to deliver superior results in existing contracts and realize opportunities for growth. In addition, this role will serve as the Retail Property Management Leader for the firm, with responsibility for building, scaling, and a best-in-class retail management platform across the organization. This includes expanding retail assignments, cultivating new retail investor relationships, and positioning the firm as a market leader in retail property services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction to maximize revenue, optimize margins, and expand our relationship with the client.
  • Develop a unified account vision and strategy that strengthens client value, enhances C&W service delivery, and drives revenue growth across investor services.
  • Provide thought leadership by identifying and championing innovation, operational improvements, and efficiency gains with measurable impact.
  • Partner with the Quality team to assess renewal likelihood and define improvements that support account growth and long-term retention.
  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive retail growth strategy, including business development planning, target client identification, and expansion into new retail portfolios and markets.
  • Partner with brokerage, capital markets, and investor services teams to proactively source and secure additional retail management assignments.
  • Set and oversee standards of excellence at every level of the account team and foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Serves as the main communication link between the client and our Cushman & Wakefield teams.
  • Provides a single escalation path for both the client and our internal teams, streamlining information flow.
  • Set and measure operational and financial goals for client account. Responsible for P&L, including budget and forecast development, monthly business reviews and achievement of EBITDA targets.
  • Ensure the implementation and superior delivery of all contracted deliverables, including measurable value-add, innovation, continuous improvement and overall client satisfaction.
  • Ensure that fixed compensation services under client contracts are realized and variable compensation opportunities are maximized to improve business unit and company profitability.
  • Oversee risk mitigation and dispute resolution for client and C&W.
  • Collaborate with market leadership and C&W platform resources (service line leads, marketing, research, technology, people) to ensure core best practices and enhance overall client satisfaction and sales efforts.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams preparing responses to RFPs and presentations for clients.
  • Build and mentor a dedicated retail leadership bench, creating depth in retail expertise across markets and positioning the team for sustained platform growth.
  • Establish scalable retail operating standards, best practices, and performance benchmarks to differentiate the firm’s retail platform nationally.
  • Build and maintain a strategic relationship map; engage proactively with client stakeholders to understand business priorities, ensure satisfaction, and identify partnership and growth opportunities.
  • Build highly engaged, top talent workforce with focus on client needs, satisfaction and positive KPI results; Partner with service line leaders to build and create a culture of trust and teamwork across business lines.
  • Coordinate and participate in regular performance reviews between clients and C&W, as outlined in the contract or required, enhancing client relationship, improvement opportunities and managing suitable action plans.
  • Monitor and analyze competitors’ practices, standards, tools, and systems to understand niche opportunities for C&W. Make recommendations at the market level to win business or strengthen our position in a geographic location.
  • Serve as the senior retail advisor to clients and prospects, providing strategic insight into merchandising strategy, tenant mix optimization, experiential retail trends, and evolving consumer behavior.
  • Coordinates with Property Managers, Engineers, Market Operational Leads, and City Leaders to deliver exceptional service, operational excellence, accountability and consistency in operations across the client’s portfolio.
  • Oversees operational support across all markets, working in tandem with dedicated Cushman employees.
  • Tailors operating procedures to client specifications.
  • Acts as the procedural and IT systems expert for the client.
  • Implements a “train the trainer” approach, disseminating training and operational knowledge to all regions.
  • Manages onboarding and turnover to ensure seamless transitions and uninterrupted client service.
  • Standardize retail-specific operational playbooks, including tenant engagement models, marketing activation coordination, and retailer performance tracking metrics.
  • Ensures consistent delivery of reports, budgets, accounting, and special requests tailored to client needs.
  • Reviews reports for accuracy and consistency prior to client delivery.
  • Partners with dedicated Client Accounting Managers to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent accounting across all markets.
  • Maintains SOC1 compliant operations for reliable internal controls and audits.
  • Customizes financial reporting packages and delivery schedules per client requirements.
  • Collaborates with the Strategic Operations Support Team (SOS) for financial statement reviews, operations audits, KPIs, and special projects.
  • Leverage SOS team for capacity and scalability in large multi-market assignments.
  • Develop retail-specific KPI dashboards (sales productivity, traffic trends, occupancy cost ratios, tenant health metrics) to drive data-informed portfolio strategy.
  • Utilizes industry-leading best practices to enhance service levels and suggest improvement initiatives.
  • Leverages Cushman & Wakefield’s resources, including market research, sustainability, project development, capital markets, and appraisal services, to bring expertise and innovative solutions to the client.
  • Understands the client’s acquisition/disposition strategy and works with Cushman & Wakefield’s Capital Markets group to provide advice or resources as needed.
  • Represent the firm externally as a retail thought leader through industry engagement, conference participation, and client-facing retail strategy presentations.
  • Contribute to firm-wide retail strategy, branding, and go-to-market positioning to elevate market perception of the retail platform.
