Landrum & Brown is seeking a Senior Managing Consultant to join our high-performing Aviation Planning team. This is a leadership role for a client-focused professional with deep expertise in commercial strategy, project delivery, and team development within the aviation sector. Responsibilities & Qualifications What You’ll Do: As a Senior Managing Consultant, you will play a dual role of strategic leader and trusted advisor. You will drive business development, lead high-profile projects, and mentor the next generation of aviation consultants. You will work closely with senior airport executives, industry stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions that align with client goals and commercial realities.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in the aviation consulting sector, ideally with a blend of commercial, operational, and financial focus.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aviation, Engineering, Planning, Business, Operations Research, or related discipline.
  • Proven experience working with airport concession contracts, rental car concession agreements, parking management programs, and airline lease agreements.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence and advise at executive levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex topics clearly.
  • Deep analytical skills with an aptitude for business planning and financial modeling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in commercial management at an airport or for an airport operator is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Airport Lease Management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Client Leadership & Relationship Management Serve as a key client liaison, cultivating long-term relationships with senior airport leadership and other aviation stakeholders.
  • Translate complex client needs into actionable solutions; lead projects that address business planning, revenue optimization, and operational performance.
  • Represent L&B as a thought leader in the industry—participating in conferences, panels, and whitepapers to elevate our brand and expertise.
  • Project Management Excellence Lead and oversee all aspects of project execution—from scope development to final deliverables.
  • Ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining a high standard of quality and client satisfaction.
  • Oversee resource allocation, staff assignments, and project financials including invoicing and cash flow management.
  • Team Building & Talent Development Hire, coach, and mentor a team of consultants and analysts, ensuring the continuous growth of internal capabilities.
  • Promote a collaborative, motivated, and high-performance team culture.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership in aviation business strategy, operations, and commercial management.
  • Market Growth & Business Development Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including leading proposal development and client interviews.
  • Support go-to-market strategies in coordination with our corporate leadership, including targeted pursuits, positioning, and strategic partnerships.
  • Leverage your industry knowledge and network to support revenue and client portfolio growth.
