P&G is seeking a state government relations leader to join our US Government Relations and Public Policy team. Our State GR team covers a wide range of issues that impact P&G across all 50 states and works closely with our North America GR team to support P&G's business. The Senior Manager role requires a high level of flexibility and agility. Candidates with a proactive mindset to execute P&G's policy agenda will be successful. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter, a precise and succinct communicator, strategically focused, and above all a team player. You will join a dynamic, high-energy team and can expect to deepen your understanding of public policy, company priorities, and strategic operations in the US and around the globe.

  • Engage on state public policy issues that support P&G business priorities in state capitals, and with other stakeholders in the policymaking process.
  • Help interpret policy initiatives, legislation, and the political process, analyzing their impact on P&G's business and communicating clearly and concisely to business leaders.
  • Maintain and update a legislative tracking database.
  • Execute strategies that help P&G achieve its public policy goals.
  • Anticipate emerging issues and help develop relationships with key external parties in state government, trade associations, and other policy leaders to advance and protect P&G's business interests.
  • Build strong relationships with key state government policymakers and regulators, including elected officials, regulators, and appointed staff within the respective state executive and legislative branches, to advance matters of importance to P&G.
  • Represent P&G through participation and activity in industry and advocacy groups, stakeholder discussions, legislative hearings, and public policy conferences.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience working directly or indirectly with policymakers or in the policymaking process.
  • Established understanding of the state policymaking process and external factors that influence key stakeholders.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an intelligence-gathering strategy to proactively identify emerging trends that impact P&G.
  • Ability to own and drive priorities within your policy portfolio.
  • A working knowledge of state policy, politics, and process.
  • Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy or related field.
  • Experience and technical background on policy issues impacting consumer products.
  • Experience working in a corporate environment or industry association managing corporate clients/stakeholders.
  • Salary range of $155,000 - $190,000.
