About The Position

This role supports the strategy and execution of enterprise cash management and capital markets initiatives, helping to ensure liquidity, enable efficient funding, and mitigate risk across Walmart’s global operations. You’ll contribute to key efforts related to funding the business, optimizing shareholder returns, and navigating an evolving macroeconomic landscape. Working closely with senior team members, you’ll help develop data-driven insights and financial analyses that inform decision-making. About the Team The Capital Markets team, part of Walmart’s Global Treasury organization, is responsible for efficiently funding global operations and optimizing shareholder returns through low-cost capital strategies. The team manages the company’s global debt portfolio, global cash investments, financial risk, and supports M&A activity while maintaining strong relationships with financial institutions and internal stakeholders. They develop financial models, monitor macroeconomic trends, and guide enterprise-wide decisions on liquidity, capital structure, and risk exposure. This role is central to advancing these priorities while driving operational excellence and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • Experience in treasury, capital markets, or corporate finance, including debt issuance, commercial paper, or investment management
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including forecasting, regression analysis, and portfolio management
  • Ability to analyze macroeconomic trends and translate insights into business and financial strategy
  • Proven experience managing financial risk, liquidity, and capital structure decisions
  • Strong executive communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly and influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience negotiating with financial institutions and managing external partnerships
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, operate in ambiguous environments, and influence without direct authority
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects, improving processes, and driving measurable business outcomes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field and 4 years’ experience in financial services, retail analytics, retail finance, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in financial services, retail analytics, retail finance, or related area.
  • 1 year’s supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support execution of business plans and treasury initiatives, aligning capital markets strategies with enterprise priorities
  • Monitor global macroeconomic trends and translate insights into actionable strategies impacting funding, risk, and investment decisions
  • Aid in daily cash positioning, forecasting, and liquidity management to support global operations
  • Assist in management of commercial paper programs and global investment portfolios, ensuring compliance with limits and reporting requirements
  • Evaluate shareholder return strategies, interest rate exposure, and currency risks, providing recommendations to leadership
  • Partner on debt funding strategies, risk management transactions, and capital structure decisions
  • Drive expense reduction and operational efficiencies through vendor negotiations, process improvements, and cross-functional initiatives
  • Analyze complex financial data and develop clear, executive-ready presentations and reporting
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, remove barriers, and enhance forecasting accuracy and financial performance
