In this position, your primary responsibilities will be to manage associates performing daily core and financial intermediary support operations within the Transfer Agent services, as well as service provider management and oversight. In addition, you will be responsible for service provider management/oversight and continuous review of processes and procedures. Transfer Agent Services operates in an outsourced business model, in which service to Russell Investments' clients is highly dependent on service provided by external service providers. We highly encourage you to apply if you have experience with financial intermediary support, mutual fund services, shareholder services, transfer agent operations, recordkeeping, or transaction processing.

  • Management of daily core operations within the Transfer Agent, financial intermediary support.
  • Ensure the team completes assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all processes and procedures are currently and properly documented in accordance with established policy and applicable regulations.
  • Focus should be on scalable and repeatable processes and procedures designed to mitigate operational risk.
  • Adjust or redesign processes and procedures, as needed, to accommodate the changing environment.
  • Provide daily coaching, support, guidance, and training for team members.
  • Work directly with external service providers and multiple groups within Russell Investments to support a wide range of transfer agent services projects.
  • Represent the team, as assigned, for projects that directly impact the support provided to internal business units, as well as external clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • 10 years of experience inclusive of:
  • At least 5 years of experience in a transfer agent environment or a similar operational setting.
  • At least 5 years of people management experience, including mentoring and coaching.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting or equivalent required
  • Experience in an operational environment within the financial services industry, specifically in Transfer Agent Operations with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • People management and mentoring experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team in meeting operational deadlines within a small, fast-paced environment with multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to communicate on behalf of Transfer Agent Services Management with service providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to evaluate and document policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Ability to function successfully in ambiguous conditions.
  • Well organized, self-starter with the ability to analyze information and support the team.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office and manage large volumes of email correspondence.
  • Ability to understand and solve complex issues and communicate the details to all levels of management.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Track record of improving processes with data and workflow automation.
  • Familiarity with SEC regulations, FINRA compliance requirements, and Investment Operations is highly desirable.
