About The Position

The Senior Manager, Training & Standards, provides strategic leadership and oversight for all Stations Operations training and standards initiatives across the Allegiant network. This role is responsible for continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, advancing instructional design methodologies, and aligning training and operational standards with organizational goals. Reporting to the Director of Stations Operations, Standards & Training, the Senior Manager oversees the Managers of Stations Training and Standards & Instructional Design, fostering collaboration and ensuring integration, consistency, and effectiveness of all policies, procedures, and training programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in airline operations, training, or standards.
  • Minimum of three (3) years in a leadership role managing managers or equivalent leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DOT, FAA, TSA, and ACAA regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience in developing and managing large-scale training programs and compliance-driven standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and eLearning platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with executive-level presentation experience.
  • Strong background in international airline operations training requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or advanced certification in training, instructional design, or organizational leadership.
  • Certification of experience in process improvement, project management, or change management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide enterprise-level leadership for the design, delivery, and evaluation of all Stations Operations training and standards initiatives.
  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap that aligns training and standards with Allegiant's operational goals, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement objectives.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with FAA, DOT, TSA, IOSA/IATA, and other regulatory agencies regarding training and operational standards.
  • Ensure effective collaboration across internal departments (Operations, Safety, ER, Allegiant University, Procurement, IT) to align policies and procedures and systems implementation timelines as relevant.
  • Ability to travel as needed to station locations across the network to conduct training audits, observe instructional delivery, assess operational consistency, and engage directly with local teams.
  • Directly oversee the Managers of Stations Training and Standards & Instructional Design, ensuring cross-functional alignment and accountability.
  • Ensure consistency and regulatory compliance of all training curriculum, instructional materials, and delivery methods systemwide.
  • Lead the integration of adult learning principles, innovative instructional technologies, and blended learning models into training programs.
  • Oversee technical writing, editing, and publication of operational manuals and training content to maintain regulatory compliance and clarity.
  • Work with the Director of Stations Operations, Standards & Training to identify gaps in training effectiveness, instructional design, and operational standards, and lead initiatives to address those gaps through targeted improvements.
  • Establish and maintain rigorous auditing processes to verify training effectiveness, instructor performance, and adherence to company standards.
  • Oversee Safety Management System (SMS) integration, including continuous review and revision of policies, procedures, and training curricula based on safety data, audit findings, and operational trends.
  • Leverage safety event reports, risk assessments, and root cause analyses to drive corrective actions and preventive improvements in training content and delivery.
  • Use data-driven insights from training performance data and operational compliance results to identify systemic gaps and drive corrective actions as well as to uncover opportunities for enhancing training delivery, learner engagement, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure manuals, training, and processes are current with federal regulations, international requirements, and Allegiant standards.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of training and standards professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Build succession planning and professional development pathways for team members, trainers, and instructional design staff.
  • Establish and maintain standards for recruiting and onboarding of qualified personnel.
  • Model Allegiant's customer service and safety standards in personal leadership and decision-making.
  • Ensure any direct reports understand and apply our Customer Commitment and customer service standards to their daily responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Model Allegiant's customer services standards in personal actions and when providing leadership direction.
