The Senior Manager – Technical Product Manager, AI within Innovative Medicine – Digital Platforms & Advanced Technology leads technical product teams delivering enterprise-grade, scalable, and compliant digital and AI-enabled solutions. This role collaborates closely with Business Product Owners, Software Engineering, Technology Services, Quality, and Compliance to define and execute product vision, strategy, and roadmaps aligned to business objectives and regulatory standards. The Senior Manager is accountable for technical product strategy, backlog and delivery ownership, solution design oversight, value realization, and operational excellence, fostering innovation, data-driven decision-making, and strong governance in a highly regulated environment. This role focuses on technical product management leadership for scalable, compliant digital platforms and data- and AI-enabled capabilities across Innovative Medicine. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in technical product management, platform leadership, or IT delivery roles, with significant people leadership experience.
  • Proven success delivering enterprise-scale digital platforms or advanced technology solutions in regulated environments (life sciences or healthcare preferred).
  • Strong experience partnering with engineering teams on architecture, platform design, and technical trade-offs.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong foundation in product management, cloud platforms, data engineering, integrations, and modern software architectures.
  • Understanding of customer journeys and user experience in enterprise and regulated contexts.
  • Substantial technical fluency within the relevant domain, enabling meaningful engagement with engineers and informed technical decision-making.
  • Expertise in Agile / SAFe methodologies, backlog management tools (e.g., Jira), and product metrics.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-relevant insights and decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience supporting Innovative Medicine, Quality, Compliance, or Content Management platforms.
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics, automation, or AI-enabled solutions in regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of GxP, FDA and enterprise risk management practices.
  • Certifications such as CSPO, SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the technical product vision, AI strategy, and roadmap supporting Innovative Medicine priorities, aligned to strategic objectives and measurable business outcomes (e.g., compliance, efficiency, scalability) in partnership with Business Product Owners and Software Engineering.
  • Translate business needs into prioritized epics, features, and user stories, ensuring clarity of scope, architectural intent, and delivery outcomes.
  • Establish, manage, and continuously refine prioritized product backlogs, balancing business value, technical debt, risk, and long-term platform health.
  • Drive demand intake, prioritization, and dependency management across multiple teams, products, and suppliers.
  • Define and track KPIs and OKRs to measure product adoption, operational impact, value realization, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and govern backlog refinement, quarterly planning, sprint execution, and release planning across multiple teams and product lines.
  • Ensure accountability for end-to-end delivery, including DevOps readiness, operational handover, and post-release support.
  • Partner with Product Owners to resolve capacity constraints, platform limitations, and cross-team dependencies.
  • Provide transparent and data-driven reporting on delivery progress, risks, and trade-offs to senior stakeholders.
  • Co-lead solution design and delivery for scalable, secure, enterprise-grade platforms, including data, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities where applicable.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility, architectural integrity, performance, security, and compliance.
  • Define and enforce product and platform standards, including solution design, development practices, release management processes, testing and validation, compliance requirements, and master data structures.
  • Drive solution option selection, partnering with Lead Engineers to assess technical elements, balance technical debt, and support informed decisions prior to user testing.
  • Lead build-vs.-buy decisions, supplier engagement, and architectural trade-off discussions.
  • Oversee the full solution lifecycle, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, operations, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all solutions meet regulatory, CSV, GxP, privacy, and security requirements, partnering closely with Quality, Regulatory, Legal, and Risk teams.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate delivery, compliance, and technology risks, including data privacy, security, and ethical technology considerations.
  • Establish and enforce standards for design governance, release management, master data, and platform oversight.
  • Lead, coach, and develop managers and individual contributors within a matrixed organization.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and data-driven decision-making across product teams.
  • Mentor leaders and practitioners on product management, agile practices, and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Build strong, trust-based partnerships with IT peers, business leaders, finance, vendors, and external partners.
  • Champion diversity, inclusion, and psychological safety across teams.
  • Embed and scale Agile / SAFe product management practices across teams.
  • Coach Product Owners on prioritization, backlog health, value definition, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery velocity, quality, flow, and customer satisfaction.
