About The Position

Senior Manager, Supply Chain Position Summary: Work Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm 100% on-site Catalent’s Kansas City facility is home to our Oral & Specialty Drug Delivery, Biologics Analytical Services and Clinical Supply Services businesses. The site provides a range of integrated services for oral solid dosage forms, from formulation development and analytical testing to clinical and commercial-scale manufacture. The Kansas City facility is a Center-of-Excellence for our Biologics Analytical Services business. Our talented team has over 25 years of experience providing analytical services for stand-alone and integrated biologics projects. Catalent Pharma Solutions in Kansas City, MO is hiring Senior Manager, Supply Chain. Catalent is a leading provider of advanced technologies and outsourced services for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and consumer health industry. The Kansas City Clinical Development & Supply Planning and Production Control Manager meets cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) expectations. This position is responsible for the business unit’s demand planning, capacity planning, material planning, and production planning and scheduling with the objective to deliver clinical trial supplies and commercial marketed materials in a timely and efficient manner. This role will have critical input to the site’s business and growth objectives and will be a key member of the Supply Chain leadership team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, production planning and control, supply chain management, industrial engineering, or related discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years progressive production planning, control management, or equivalent customer service experience with manufactured or packaged products is required; including demand, production, inventory, and capacity planning.
  • Experience hosting and leading client and internal inspections, including direct experience hosting and leading in the preparation, management, and follow-up relating to FDA inspections.
  • 5-8 years of progressively increasing leadership experience in a production or customer service environment is required.
  • Advanced computer skills – including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft Access, and Inventory/ERP systems is required.

  • CPIM and/or APICS/ASCM certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning team including recruitment, development, coaching, mentoring, and retention for professional, highly effective team members.
  • Accountable for maintaining effective planning and scheduling processes to ensure that site operations are forecasted and positioned for successful execution.
  • Develop systems that make gaps between plan and actual visible to the organization.
  • Develop capacity planning tools and monitor capacity (ongoing, short-, mid-, and long term) to ensure the optimal level of capacity is available to meet forecasted demand.
  • Manage the period for Sales & Operations Planning cycle to develop achievable short, mid and long-term operating plans. Included is the production scheduling of operations to meet financial & performance goals.
  • Manage the development of schedules for machine, man and material (raw materials, components, and outside services) based upon capacity and resources, execute the plan and make visual the results of execution.
  • Participate in daily production meetings.
  • Manage inventory levels to meet the objectives of the business plan, support the requirements of the manufacturing operation, and meet the needs of the customer.
  • Provide training, mentoring and development of direct and indirectly reporting employees
  • All other duties as assigned.
