In direct support of the Associate Director of Strategic Sourcing, Engineered Items, within the P&W Global Supply Chain (GSC) to ensure that all commodity-specific objectives are met. Develop strong relationships with suppliers, peers, and internal management and customers, which will culminate in the establishment of Long Term [Procurement] Agreements (LTA), and other initiatives all of which will contribute to company operating goals. Emphasis on collecting and analyzing data in preparation for LTA negotiations, and managing second sourcing and cost reduction initiatives. Develop and implement innovative strategies that effectively secure cost, capacity and accountability for delivery/quality performance within the supply base.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or related field and 10 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, strategic sourcing and/or commodity management within or in support of a manufacturing environment, or other related field: OR an Advanced degree with 7 years of experience
  • U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with issuing and coordinating RFQ/RFP/RFI process
  • Experience using SAP, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with business cases and financial analysis

Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier contract negotiations from initial quotation through final approval and signature.
  • Coordinate negotiation team engagement with Contracts, Legal, Program Office and Value Stream to obtain requisite approvals for contract awards through a gated passport process.
  • Maintain contracts and ensure accurate pricing in SAP and flow down contract elements to the tactical procurement organization for order placement.
  • Achieve commodity cost reduction goals through negotiated cost reduction and/or coordinate teaming with supplier and Engineering on technical change cost solutions.
  • Develop and maintain supplier and part family specific sourcing strategies in support of future proposals and sourcing decisions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Technology Managers, Advanced Programs and New Product Introduction teams to proactively engage in the emerging technological landscape and support various advanced sourcing initiatives.
  • Support RTX-level coordination meetings aimed at developing and maintaining sourcing strategies and relationships with key suppliers which will be leveraged to positively impact business results.
  • Maintain alignment with the Mechanical Systems, Engineered Items, Nacelles (MSEN) and Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Procurement organizations to provide support and escalation path on tactical procurement issues when assistance is requested.
