The Opportunity This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) Division in Alameda, CA. We are helping people with diabetes lead healthier, happier lives. Consistent and accurate glucose monitoring is the foundation of any diabetes management plan, so we are committed to continuous improvement in the way patients and professionals measure, track and analyze glucose levels. As a Senior Manager Strategic Pricing and part of the Finance organization, you will be supporting the North America Commercial organization within Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC). The Senior Manager, Pricing Strategy will play a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity and strategic alignment of pricing decisions incorporated into our FP&A forecast. This role partners closely with the Senior Manager, Strategic Pricing and cross-functional teams to validate assumptions, assess financial impacts, and ensure pricing strategies are grounded in sound financial analysis and within approved financial terms and policies. This is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, CA.

Requirements

  • B.A./B.S. in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Minimum 8 years Finance and supervisory experience (FP&A, Cost/General Accounting and Financial Reporting)
  • Ability to plan, implement and administer financial information and control systems
  • Knowledge of the principles, processes and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting
  • Experience in financial planning & analysis, pricing validation, or healthcare finance
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Deep understanding of gross-to-net concepts and payer economics
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence decision-making

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or Healthcare Management
  • Experience in healthcare pricing, reimbursement, or payer strategy
  • Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, or other analytics tools
  • Knowledge of pharmacy, DME, hospital, and post-acute care channels

Responsibilities

  • Validate Pricing Assumptions: Review and challenge assumptions used in pricing proposals, including volume forecasts, payer mix, reimbursement rates, and gross-to-net projections.
  • Financial Modeling & Scenario Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models to assess the impact of pricing strategies across channels (Retail, Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid, POC).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Strategic Pricing, Forecasting, Commercial, and Contracting teams to ensure alignment on pricing strategies and financial implications.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify financial risks and opportunities associated with proposed pricing strategies, including legislative and market changes.
  • Governance & Review: Support the Pricing Committee process by providing financial validation and insights for pricing proposals.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track actual performance against pricing assumptions and provide variance analysis and recommendations.
  • Reporting & Insights: Deliver financial insights to Senior Leadership and other stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement: Enhance pricing validation processes, tools, and models to improve accuracy and efficiency.
