The following position is to join our RTX Corporate Tax Team: RTX Corporate has an opening for a Manager, Tax in RTX Corporates Tax department to support the State Income Tax function. This is not an executive level role. This role can be fully remote or hybrid and is responsible for assisting with key state income tax matters including reporting and compliance with a focus on reimbursable state taxes US Government contracts. This position reports directly to the Associate Director, State Income Tax. The selected candidate will be required to work business hours that align with Eastern U.S. time.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems or sites.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across teams and functions
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines; and the ability to synthesize large amounts of information into meaningful analysis
  • Proven leadership experience with a focus on team development

Nice To Haves

  • State tax planning experience gained in a large multinational corporate and/or public accounting setting is a plus
  • Advanced degree in Taxation, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Law is desired.
  • CPA a plus
  • A dynamic problem solver with strong accounting, analytical, and decision-making skills with the ability to craft solutions to everyday challenges with creative new ideas
  • Enjoys working collaboratively on projects with other functional departments and has exceptional organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication as well as presentation skills
  • Experience with Corp Tax and Longview software is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage all government accounting processes and communication related to reimbursable state income taxes for reporting to FP&A and for compliance purposes
  • Lead audit responses to the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) regarding reimbursable state income taxes including timely information document requests (IDRs) submissions
  • Support provision process by preparing and/or reviewing quarterly, plan, and year end state income tax computations (effective tax rates, deferred rates, and reserves)
  • Support the state income tax return process by preparing and/or reviewing returns, associated workpapers, estimates, extensions, notices, and apportionment packages
  • Assists global tax audit team with state audits, protests, protective refund claims, and audit offsets
  • Assists Associate Director, State Tax with quantifying state income/franchise tax implications of planning and restructuring transactions as needed.
  • Assists Associate Director, State Tax with matters associated with acquisitions and dispositions
