WORK MODEL#LI-OnSiteWHAT YOU WILL DOLead role in developing and improving all Hyundai, Genesis, Hydrogen and Electric Vehicle special service tools. This includes, but is not limited to: Dealer service equipment, Special Service Tool (SST) programs, EV Chargers and Fuel Cell tool/facility support.HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACTProgram Management: Manage, coordinate, and oversee daily operations of the Hyundai, Genesis, and Hydrogen Special Service Tool Programs to improve the customer experience, dealer performance, dealer capacity, technician retention, and Fixed Right First Time (FRFT). Major Responsibilities include: Lead, coordinate, and oversee Hyundai, Genesis, and Hydrogen New Dealer Kits (NDK), essential tools daily sales support. Manage the relationship with Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) Global Service Engineering group as it relates to department objectives and launch readiness. Perform SST needs assessments through review of Service Information, Technical Service Bulletin, Service Campaign, Recall documentation and with Service Engineering’s collaboration. Coordinate the development, evaluation, and validation of Special Service Tools amongst various departments. Lead, coordinate, and oversee SST staff members and SST contractors. Lead, coordinate, and oversee business relations with tool and equipment distributors, suppliers and vendors. Exercise independent judgment to manage SST budgets, workload planning, scheduling, and resources prioritization. Use and maintain advanced product knowledge/experience to identify area of greatest impact for dealers, technicians, and field staff support. Develop, lead, coordinate and oversee Special Service tool loan program. Ensure SST staff members are up to date on training and aware of the latest regulator information. Create and maintain standards for Special Service tools reviews, approval processes. Reporting, Planning & Analysis: Lead, coordinate, and oversee Hyundai, Genesis, and Hydrogen tools reporting. Manage, coordinate, publish and keep updated- department publications as assigned, including updating application guides and catalogs. Work with internal owners of various documents and projects to maintain accuracy of printed and on-line publications.  Coordinate and assist in publishing Technical Service Bulletins related to Special Service Tools Publish reference materials for vendors, suppliers, and various support platforms. Integrate raw data into PowerPoint charts and slides that can be used by management for presentations and performance measurement. Analyze and report program progress and results. Provide scheduled and ad hoc reports and analysis and utilize insights to enhance current and future programs. Manage Direct Reports: Management development of personnel within the department (evaluation, hiring) and conduct regular performance evaluations of direct reports including annual performance excellence plans. Budget / Purchasing: Maintain supplier agreements, change orders, purchase requests, purchase orders, and invoices. Facilitate processing and approvals with internal departments. Department budget support – compile annual department budget, monitor budget compliance through review of monthly reports & identify/resolve variance issues and concerns. Oversee supplier selection and relationship management, including Request For Proposal (RFP), Scope of Service (SOS) and Service Level Agreement (SLA) development. Review and approve deliverables, monitoring quality, and ensuring delivery of goods/services. Hydrogen Fuel Cell Support: Lead, coordinate, and oversee Hydrogen Special Service tools program & Hydrogen Fuel Cell facility. Including but not limited to managing ground rod permitting process for dealers and tech training centers.

Requirements

  • Must be a high school graduate.
  • Eight or more years of experience with an automotive OE or distributor in a similar technical capacity.
  • Two to three years of managerial experience desired.
  • Experience in fast paced OEM environment.
  • Program management and vendor relations experience required.
  • Full understanding of Special Service Tools and impact to dealers & technicians.
  • Ability to coordinate with several internal and external stakeholders of technical and business nature.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure of deadlines, handle multiple priorities and pay close attention to detail.
  • Understanding of automotive industry; existing vehicle and service capabilities; and new trends in regard to Special Service Tool serviceability.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of a wide variety of vehicle systems.
  • Proficient at using service tools and extensive repair experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work within an international environment.
  • Good PC skills with proficiency in the complete Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • High degree of cross functional cooperation and coordination.
  • Must be able to safely drive a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift light loads (less than 20 lbs.) during the course of development, testing, and validation activities.
