Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7 Years of relevant work experience.
  • 5 Years of management experience.
  • Expert in at least one of the following: Java/Spring Boot, Kotlin, Python/Django or Swift.
  • 2-3 years of experience with hybrid resource environments that can include changing mixes of in-house, contractor- and/or partner-provided resources.
  • Self-directed with a start-up/intrapreneur mindset.
  • Ravenous about learning technology and problem solving.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills with the ability to influence non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 20+ engineers that powers the 7-Eleven and Speedway mobile apps through frontend native app experiences and backend shared services including Account, Authentication, Transaction history, store locator, gamification, lifetime savings etc., and core platforms.
  • Drive architectural design and implementation of distributed, cloud-native systems with deep expertise in AWS.
  • Provide technical leadership across native mobile app development (iOS/Swift, Android/Kotlin) and API Service development.
  • Design and scale systems leveraging RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures.
  • Guide modernization efforts by working across legacy monoliths and microservices architectures.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Product, InfoSec, Marketing, and Design) to deliver high-quality products efficiently.
  • Actively engage in product and business discussions with a technical eye for feasibility and adherence to overall roadmaps and architectural strategy.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop engineers to foster high-performing, scalable teams.
  • Conduct code reviews and architecture reviews to ensure technical excellence and alignment.
  • Foster a thriving cross functional culture focused on creating shared services that promotes high re-use across all platforms.
  • Lean in with AI driven technologies to promote productivity and drive speed and quality in all stages of the SDLC from story creation, through code, test, deployment and monitoring.
  • Contribute to initiatives in CRM and marketing technologies to enhance customer engagement.
  • Hands-on development experience with Python/Django or Java/Spring Boot is highly recommended.
