About The Position

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Fuel engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of software engineering, a passion for managing a highly performing team, and a proven track record in delivering software. As a leader, you will be tasked with managing a team of highly skilled engineers, fostering a collaborative environment, and driving the team towards achieving strategic company goals. About Team: Our team partners closely with Walmart U.S. stores and eCommerce to deliver better customer experiences by equipping associates, merchants, and stores with cutting-edge technology. The Fuel Technology team manages over 12,000 fueling points across Walmart and Sam's Club, supporting a wide range of solutions including payment orchestration for Fuel and EV, mobile pay, and CarPlay integration. We are also driving the development of the next-generation fuel dispensing platform, further strengthening Walmart's multibillion-dollar fuel and convenience portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Engineering Manager or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of front-end technologies and frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 7 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 2 years' supervisory experience.

  • Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Drive the technical vision and strategy for the front-end team. Stay current with cutting-edge technologies and best practices in Ad technology, SDKs, and front-end development.
  • Performance Improvement: Lead efforts in improving app performance and ensure optimal user experience. Develop and implement strategies for continuous performance improvements.
  • Team Management: Manage a team of highly skilled engineers. Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment. Facilitate team meetings, code reviews, and knowledge sharing sessions.
  • Project Management: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Monitor project progress, manage risks, and ensure high standards of quality.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to team members. Promote continuous learning and professional development within the team.
