Senior Manager, Software Engineering - IT Infrastructure

What you’ll be doing: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers responsible for designing, building, and operating an enterprise software engineering platform that supports infrastructure and services at scale. Set technical direction and architectural standards for platforms that manage workflows across enterprise software, appliances, networks, and open-source technologies. Oversee the design, evolution, and reliability of REST APIs used by thousands of engineers for on-demand infrastructure and workflow management. Guide the development and integration of provisioning, metrics, monitoring, and management software to support highly available infrastructure services. Drive automation initiatives to improve deployment, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency across large-scale engineering environments. Partner multi-functionally with infrastructure, security, IT, and product stakeholders to align priorities, roadmaps, and execution. Establish best practices for documentation, testing, and operational readiness, and ensure the team delivers well-architected, maintainable solutions. Plan and manage team execution, including project prioritization, milestone tracking, capacity planning, and on-time delivery. Support hiring efforts, performance management, career development, and succession planning for the team.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
6+ Years of Proven experience managing and leading software engineering teams.
12+ overall years of experience in infrastructure or platform-focused environments.
Strong technical background in designing and operating REST APIs at scale for internal or enterprise users.
Experience overseeing systems involving provisioning, metrics, monitoring, and infrastructure management workflows.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, cloud deployments, and AWS, with the ability to guide architectural decisions.
Working knowledge of Python and Go, sufficient to review designs, code, and technical tradeoffs.
Exposure to JavaScript frameworks and UI design, enabling effective collaboration and oversight.
Ability to balance hands-on technical depth with people leadership and strategic planning.
