We are seeking a Front End Software Engineering Leader who is passionate about delivering reliable, best-in-class experiences for the millions of unique customers that use our services every month, and creating an intuitive and efficient developer experience for the hundreds of web developers across Capital One that build features on our platforms. As a Capital One Sr. Manager, Software Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.

  • Lead a team of developers with deep experience in Angular and related technologies and coach and mentor engineers through their career development and performance.
  • Work with Product partners to develop the technology strategy, roadmap and vision for our platforms, and deliver application capabilities.
  • Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across the technology stack.
  • Lead complex vendor relationships and ensure well-managed integration of vendor platforms into our broader Capital One ecosystem.
  • Develop and leverage trusted relationships across Architecture, Design, and other Technology leaders to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities.
  • Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply).
  • At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
  • At least 4 years of people management experience.
  • Master's Degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in Angular development.
  • 7+ years of people management experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
  • 3+ years of experience building web platforms.
  • 1+ years of experience working with monorepo web applications and associated tooling (e.g. Nx).
  • 3+ years of experience building developer tooling and automation.
  • 3+ years of experience working with design systems.
  • 3+ years of experience with automated test tooling (Jest, Cypress, Playwright).
  • 3+ years of experience with observability tools (e.g. New Relic) and web performance optimization.
