About The Position

The Software Engineering Manager at ASML US will lead a team of approximately 30 software architects, developers, and quality engineers in the development of complex real-time software for EUV lithography technology. This role involves managing software development processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring high-quality software delivery to meet aggressive commercialization timelines. The manager will also focus on team development, technical competence, and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of direct software engineering experience with 5+ years of management experience.
  • In-depth experience with Python and C++ programming languages.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience leading complex projects and activities.
  • Demonstrated experience in bringing complex, real-time control systems to production.
  • Experience managing development projects requiring a mix of different resources and engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and operational credibility with employees and strategic partners.
  • Create an organizational infrastructure that supports new development and manages day-to-day business efficiently.
  • Translate company requirements into group policy/deliverables and drive for implementation.
  • Demonstrate leadership in meeting cost, schedule, resource, quality, and functional program objectives.
  • Build and maintain a high skill level in software engineering and testing of ASML products.
  • Propose and lead technology development activities to minimize development time and risk.
  • Ensure quality of operation by reviewing technical solutions, procedures, and documentation.
  • Identify and utilize outsourced engineering resources as necessary.
  • Develop and enforce group engineering practices and design rules consistent with corporate objectives.
  • Allocate resources quarterly and respond to resource requirements on short notice.
  • Define and execute training plans for direct reports to develop group capabilities.
  • Act as a representative in cross-functional meetings to maintain coordination between software and other functional organizations.
  • Contribute to ASML San Diego's software engineering practices.
