About the Team The Productivity Technologies team within Workday builds and operates products and services ranging from email and messaging services to sophisticated spreadsheets and print integrations to video streaming services, among many others. We work across the full stack at Workday, from frontend to backend, applying both public cloud and other 3rd-party integrations. This range of products and technologies ensures there's never a dull moment! About the Role This role will bring together a team to handle the operations of many of our group’s services, sitting in the intersection between our development teams and our partners in infrastructure. Your partnership with these teams will drive improvements to our architecture and operating practices with the goal of enabling the smooth operation of our services for our customers. It will also handle on-call support for these services in conjunction with our service and infrastructure teams. You will need to build a team which can live in both the software development and service reliability engineering worlds. This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government which, due to federal government security requirements, mandates that all Workday personnel working on the contracts be United States citizens (naturalized or native). About You Do you love building high performance teams? Working in partnership with others to brainstorm, identify, and complete improvements in our applications and supporting systems? We’re looking for someone to bring these interests and an SRE approach to our services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 5+ years of experience in management roles.
  • 2+ years of experience managing other development managers.

  • Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Hands-on operational experience with large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience working in large, multi-team environments.
