About The Position

As a Senior Service Center Manager at XPO, you will supervise all employees reporting to the service center, ensuring that freight is delivered on time and picked up promptly. You will be responsible for tracking and auditing employees' hours, handling payroll issues, administering corrective action, and monitoring the coaching, training, and development of your staff. You will also provide frequent information to all employees about service center productivity and company policies and procedures, research and implement opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies, maintain clean and safe working conditions, and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of and experience with the Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry.
  • Experience with transportation rules and regulations, OSHA standards, hazardous materials regulations, NMFC and Tariff rules.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, and travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related work experience or equivalent military experience.
  • Experience with process improvement and the use of Lean and/or Six Sigma.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Able to multitask and prioritize work with excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience in an LTL environment.
  • Solid analytical skills.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, presentation, and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all employees reporting to the service center.
  • Track and audit employees' hours and handle payroll issues.
  • Administer corrective action and monitor coaching, training, and development of staff.
  • Plan daily manpower needs to ensure timely freight delivery and pickup.
  • Provide information to employees about service center productivity and company policies.
  • Research, monitor, and implement cost-cutting and efficiency improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain clean and safe working conditions of the facility and equipment.
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations and company policies.
  • Route proper documentation and oversee procedure control for hazardous material shipments.
