This position is focused on supporting our regulatory policy analysis and policy advocacy efforts on behalf of Legal, in close partnership with Global Enterprise Affairs (GEA) and other internal and external stakeholders. This is a highly visible role both within the organization and externally, requiring a high degree of maturity and professionalism in interacting with internal subject matter experts and stakeholders across multiple functional areas throughout the firm, as well as externally with industry trade associations and the staff of our key regulatory agencies. The successful candidate will support Capital One's efforts to design and drive the firm’s advocacy agenda for critical areas of strategic importance. The attorney will play a significant part in proactively engaging with the changing regulatory landscape, ensuring Capital One clearly understands and responds to developments. This includes coordinating with colleagues across Legal and GEA) to analyze legislation and proposed regulations, and to develop and advance advocacy strategies. Finally, the role involves engaging with industry trade associations to ensure Capital One’s priorities are reflected in their efforts. We are looking for an attorney who is collaborative, inquisitive, and exhibits grounded judgment in novel situations.
